The Anglican Church of St. Mary the Virgin was consecrated on 13th February 1887 by the Rt. Rev. George Frederick Hose, Bishop of Singapore and Sarawak. It started as a wooden church on top of the hill known as Bukit Aman. It was a centre of worship and the spiritual life of the small group of Anglicans in and around Kuala Lumpur at that time. The congregation grew steadily and in 1893 it was decided that a bigger church is needed.
The new church was designed by the same architect the British architect, A.C. Norman, it was completed in 1894. This vintage Anglican Church houses a rare pipe organ.
